MacDill Makeover

Amy Keller | 12/1/2006

United States Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base, better known as CentCom, unveiled a $300-million renovation project that will add 670,000 square feet of space to the command center, which oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East, Southwest Asia and the Horn of Africa.

The five-year project will add enough conference rooms and individual workspace to accommodate an additional 3,800 to 4,000 people and make the command post more resistant to future base reductions or closures.
